SENA AVOIDS EXTREME MANUFACTURING DELAYS WITH REMOVAL OF NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

January 7, 2022

IRVINE, Calif. (January 7, 2022) — Due to ongoing pandemic-driven global semiconductor chip shortages, Sena Technologies, Inc., the world’s leader in Bluetooth® communication solutions for the powersports and outdoor sports markets, will begin to remove the FM radio function as well as other related functions from select devices. This same chip shortage that is affecting a myriad of industries has unfortunately impacted the manufacturing processes of Sena products. With continued global supply chain limitations, the removal of non-essential functions, like FM radio, will allow Sena to continue with current production schedules to maintain product inventory levels.

The following adjustments will be implemented soon:

FM Radio

In order to continue producing many of our most popular products, Sena will begin to phase out the non-essential function of an integrated FM radio in the products linked here. Customers will still have the ability to wirelessly stream music, including web-based FM radio stations, from a smartphone or an external MP3 player to their Sena device via a Bluetooth connection.

Affected devices will receive new SKU numbers and packaging cues to differentiate these products from previous generation devices. If your Sena device currently has any of these features it will not be affected by these changes. For more information on affected products their estimated roll-out, and any future updates which may occur, click here.

For questions or concerns regarding the removal of the FM radio function, please contact Sena support at support@sena.com.
