Serial Interface and Surge Protection:
•
On the serial side, the PS110W / PS210W support
RS-232 serial devices via RJ45 type connector and supports data
transfer speeds (baud rate) from 300 bps to 460 Kbps. Built-in
ESD surge protection is added on every signal to safeguard your
serial devices from electrical interference, surges or spikes
that could interrupt the system operation.
Strong Security:
•
The PS110W / PS210W provides enterprise-class WPA2 (Wi-Fi
Protected Access) and 802.11i compliant wireless security
through advanced AES encryption for complete data privacy and
secure mutual authentication services. Further, the PS110W /
PS210W supports standard 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent
Privacy) protocol to protect data being transmitted over a
wireless LAN network.
For secure data communication between a client and a server, SSL
and RC4 encryption features are provided. In addition, HTTPS for
secure data transfer over the web, and IP filtering controls the
access to serial devices.
These security features enable customers to connect virtually
any serial device and securely collect, track, measure, monitor
and control critical device information through an
organization's wireless LAN infrastructure.
Telnet COM port control:
•
In TCP mode, the PS110W / PS210W supports telnet COM
port control option (RFC 2217 compliant) that is used to access
serial devices over the network. This option enable user
applications to set the parameters of remote serial ports (baud
rate, flow control, etc.), detect line signal changes, as well
as receive and transmit data. In addition, when working with
Serial/IP COM port redirector, the PS110W / PS210W transmit all
serial signals including DTR, DSR and DCD.
Modem Emulation:
•
In modem emulation mode, PS110W / PS210W is used to
replace dial-up modems. The unit accepts modem AT commands on
the serial port, and then establishes a network connection to
the end device, leveraging wireless mobility and bandwidth to
eliminate dedicated modems and phone lines.
TCP/UDP Multicasting:
•
TCP/UDP Multicasting feature is provided for those
applications, which involve a serial device sending messages to
many PC host simultaneously.
Lower Latency:
•
When working with the Serial/IP COM port redirector,
the PS110W / PS210W generates lower overall latency that is
required to operate industrial and control applications
reliably, with maximum throughput.
Wi-Fi Signal Strength display:
•
The PS110W / PS210W also provides you with
full-featured Wi-Fi Signal Strength display via LEDs. Further,
the unit comes with LED indicators for Power, Status and act of
Wi-Fi link, and Serial Rx/Tx signals.
Application Areas:
•
The PS110W / PS210W is ideal for connecting devices
used in M2M automation applications such as industrial
applications that require data logging, wireless sensor control
and monitoring in production facilities, building and
point-of-sale, warehouse, and medical applications where running
Ethernet cables is not practical or possible.
Benefits:
•
Integrating the PS110W / PS210W into a control or
automation system benefits in reducing cabling costs and
increased mobility.
If you're looking for a cost-effective, secure and scalable
means to wireless-enable your serial devices, look no further
than PS110W / PS210W from SENA.
The PSx10W product line is expected to be released by the end of
July 2007.
