Sena Introduces Its Flagship SMH10 Bluetooth® Headset & Intercom Now with Universal Microphone Kit Option

New Microphone Kit Provides Greater Versatility for Riders Who Want the Choice of a Wired or Boom Mic

SAN JOSE, Calif. (June 14, 2012) – Sena Technologies, Inc., a Bluetooth innovator in the motorcycle and outdoor activities market, announced today that it is providing motorcycle riders with even more options in the customization of their Bluetooth headset communicators. Sena now offers its Universal Microphone Kit as an option when purchasing the company’s flagship and well-reviewed SMH10 headset/intercom. Universal Microphone Kit comes standard with a boom mic and a wired mic, as well as a helmet clamp for both. This allows versatile installation into a variety of helmets. Consumers may also opt for the SMH10 with a boom microphone kit. The Universal Mic Kit is one of four clamp kits offered for the SMH10.

“Our product developers do everything they can to take our customers’ comments and concerns to heart,” said Tae Kim, President and CEO of Sena Technologies, Inc. “The ability for customers to use one clamp for two different types of microphones with Universal Mic Kit, as well as the option to use three other clamp kits for the SMH10, allows our consumers to customize their helmet headsets in ways that best suit their riding needs. It also saves them crucial time and money so that they don’t have to purchase a new clamp or entire kit whenever they want to change the style of microphone attached to their helmets.”

While a rider may choose to pair his or her SMH10 with the Universal Microphone Kit from the outset, if he or purchases the SMH10 with only the boom microphone and decides later that the option to interchange the microphones would be nice to have, Sena offers the option of also purchasing the Universal Microphone Kit as a separate accessory.

Since its initial launch in 2010, SMH10 owners, as well as power sports industry leaders, have lauded the innovative wireless headset for its audio quality, volume, ease of use, connectivity and overall manufacturing quality. The SMH10 features four-way conference intercom more than 0.5 miles, multipoint for mobile phone and GPS, voice prompts, Bluetooth stereo headset for audio devices such as MP3 players, Bluetooth music playback control by AVRCP, easy operation by versatile Jog Dial, enhanced sound level with integrated audio booster, Bluetooth handsfree for Bluetooth mobile phones, water resistant for use in inclement weather, up to 12 hours talk time and 10 days stand-by time, charging while in use, free firmware upgrades and a two year warranty for consumer peace of mind.

The SMH10 single pack with the Universal Microphone Kit or the standard boom microphone is $219 and the dual pack is $399 and is available online at www.SenaBluetooth.com or from Sena’s network of hundreds of motorcycle accessory retailers.
